The song is about a three-year relationship I recently got out of - the story of my first heartbreak one could say. As I moved from South Africa to the UK, we tried for just over a year to make it work, and in the end simply couldn't. Ultimately, the song is about navigating my way through heartbreak and lack of closure in modern day society.

In terms of musical inspiration, I have taken the essence of what I enjoy from many artists. To list a few, I have been inspired by the lyrical masterpieces from The Lumineers, and have taken musical influence from a variety of alternative artists such as Clairo, Dayglow, The Academic, and so on.

After writing and recording both the music and lyrics, I had the pleasure of working with my friend, Davide Rapicano from the band, Drakmah, who helped mix and master the song for me.
